The applied coatings are primarily based on starch. This is obtained from corn,
Potatoes and other tubers with a high starch content, as well as sugar cane.
These so-called bio-polymers represent a small percentage (approximately 2%), since the larger part of the coating is based on cellulose.
The materials are not taken from the food cycle. They come from the remains or waste of the corn plant.
